Sam is a principal with WPHC and has over 25 years of experience focused solely on post-acute healthcare and senior living. His clients include operators that range in size from small rural providers to national multi-facility chains. He has been instrumental in the planning, developing, and coordinating many engagements.
Sam has assisted many providers in obtaining both initial and refinancing of their facilities and has provided consultation services related to multiple sales and transfers of facilities. He has effectively represented a large number of Medicare and Medicaid long-term care providers in cost reimbursement issues, both on the informal and formal appeal levels. Sam is very knowledgeable in preparing and reviewing Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. He is also experienced in Virginia Health Information Rate Review filings, cost analysis, Certificate of Public Need applications, and optimizing third-party reimbursement.
He currently serves on the board of directors of the Virginia Healthcare Association | Virginia Center for Assisted Living (VHCAVCAL) and Virginia Health Information (VHI).
